FIRST RESPONDER SAFETY AT A SMALL AIRCRAFT OR HELICOPTER ACCIDENT
The course is a self paced on-line program with five modules that is designed to familiarize first responders with small aircraft and helicopter systems that may present a hazard during emergency operations, as well as operational procedures that should be taken in managing the scene of an aircraft incident. PIPELINE EMERGENCIES
The National Association of State Fire Marshal recently rolled out the Second Edition of Pipeline Emergencies training program. This program is free on-line to emergency responders. The book (with imbedded videos) is available for viewing on-line, and the instructor materials are free to download on-line as well, at www.pipelineemergencies.com . All the on-line content at this site is free to the fire service. This is also available as a free app for the IPhone, IPad, and IPod Touch.
 
COURSE NUMBER 1746 -- HAZMAT & WMD AWARENESS
This 6-hour course was developed by the State of Ohio Homeland Security Task Force, sub-committee for training and approved by the Office of Domestic Preparedness (ODP). This course is designed to meet NFPA, OSHA, EPA and ODP standards/guidelines, and the needs of multiple disciplines (Fire, Law Enforcement, EMS, Healthcare Providers, and Public Works) that may be involved with incidents involving hazardous materials or weapons of mass destruction.

COURSE NUMBER 1749 -- HM/WMD TECHNICIAN
This course is approved by the Federal Office of Domestic Preparedness. Upon completion, participants will be prepared to enter hazardous materials hot zones to control spills and leaks using offensive measures designed to protect property and the environment. Students will have the opportunity to practice material learned in the classroom through hands-on exercises. The course also prepares students to recognize, respond and terminate a weapon of mass destruction event.

During the course a student manual will be provided as a loaner. Once a student has successfully completed the Ohio Fire Academy course they can access the student manual on line (OFA web page) under . Scroll through your "Student Course History", locate your HM/WMD Technician record. At this point click on the "Course Materials" link to download the student manual.

Due to the content of the course, the Academy has elected to allow only those students who have successfully completed our program full access to the student manual.

This 2-hour course was developed by the Sate of Ohio Homeland Security Task Force, sub-committee on training for first responders who have been issued First Responder PPE Kits.

The focus of the program is on residential (single and multi-family) and small commercial occupancies.

This 14-hour course was developed by the National Fire Academy to examine the Safety Officer's role at emergency response situations. There is a specific focus on operations within the incident command system with the Safety Officer's role as a main theme.

COURSE NUMBER 2113 -- HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER
This 18-hour course developed by the National Fire academy examines the Health and Safety Officer's role in identifying, evaluating, and implementing policy and procedures that affect health and safety aspects for emergency responders. The participants will be able to identify and analyze health and safety aspects that affect emergency responder safety in emergency and non-emergency situations.
